Product safety labels for OEMs and machine builders
Catalog and custom labels laid out in ANSI Z535.4 and ISO 3864-2 formats, kept under part numbers so every production run matches the last.
From risk assessment to label content
A machine's labels come out of its risk assessment. Once design and guarding have removed what they can, each remaining hazard gets a label at the point of exposure, with a signal word for severity, a symbol for the hazard, and a message that names the hazard, the consequence and how to avoid it.
You decide the hazards, the wording and the placement; we lay the content out and proof it. Our machinery labels guide for OEMs walks through planning a label set, and the ANSI Z535 guide explains how the panels fit together.
ANSI Z535.4, ISO 3864-2 or both
Machines sold in the US usually carry ANSI Z535.4 labels with a DANGER, WARNING or CAUTION panel. Machines sold in Europe and elsewhere often use ISO 3864-2 symbol-led layouts. A combined layout, with an ISO-style symbol and an ANSI signal word, lets one label serve several markets.
For equipment shipped to many countries, wordless symbol labels avoid translation, and bilingual layouts put two languages on one label. Confirm what each target market expects.
Part numbers for repeat production
Each approved design is held under a part number. Put those numbers on your bill of materials and reorder the same artwork for every build. When wording changes, the new version gets its own proof and revision, so old and new labels do not mix.
List the full label set for each machine model on one quote request, with the quantity per machine and the number of machines. Your quote confirms quantities, pricing and ship date for each line.
Serial numbers and variable data
Nameplates, rating plates and serial labels can carry data that changes on every unit: serial numbers in sequence, model and rating fields, barcodes, or QR codes that open the manual for that model. Send a numbering range or a spreadsheet with one row per unit.
Labels print from the data you supply, and checking it is your responsibility, so review the first and last records on the proof. See serial number labels and custom nameplates.
Stocks and proofs
Indoor polyester suits labels inside enclosures and on painted guards in clean plants. Outdoor polyester suits equipment that sees weather or washdown. Anodized aluminum suits heat, abrasion and long life. Typical figures are on the materials page; tell us the surface, temperature and exposure and we will suggest a stock.
Every custom design comes with a proof, and nothing prints until you approve it.

Common questions
Do you decide which labels my machine needs?
No. Your risk assessment and your engineers decide the hazards, wording and placement. We print the designs you approve and do not assess machines.
Can you keep our label designs on file for reorders?
Yes. Each approved design is listed by part number on your quote and invoice. Send the part number and quantity to reorder the same artwork.
Can you reproduce labels from our current supplier?
Yes, if the content belongs to you or you have permission to use it. Send the artwork or a clear photo with dimensions. A design owned by another company needs that company's permission.
Can labels be grouped by machine model?
Yes. List the part numbers and quantities for each model in your request. How the labels are packed is confirmed in the quote.
What artwork files should we send?
Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) for symbols and logos, and editable text for messages. A sketch or marked-up photo is fine for a first proof.
What happens when we change a label?
Send the new wording; we issue a new proof and a revised part number or revision so the change is traceable.
