What crews put on a hard hat

A hard hat label tells everyone on site who a person is and what they are cleared to do, without asking. Common designs:

• Name and trade: a first name, crew number or trade such as electrician, rigger or welder.
• Training and roles: first aid or CPR trained, crane operator, signal person, fire warden, spotter.
• New or short-service worker: a high-visibility sticker that marks someone in their first weeks on site.
• Company and project logos: your brand, a contractor's logo or a project name.
• Color codes and QR codes: a color per trade or contractor, or a QR code that opens a training record or site induction page.

Sizes, shapes and stock

Hard hat shells are curved, so small labels sit flatter than large ones. Popular sizes are 2 x 2 in squares and circles, 1 x 3 in strips for names, and 3.5 x 1 in bands for the front or back of the shell. Any size or die-cut shape can be quoted.

Vinyl conforms to curves better than polyester, and an overlaminate protects the print from sweat, sun and scuffs. Tell us if you need a reflective look or a writable name area, and we will suggest a stock and confirm it on your quote.

Before you stick anything on a hard hat

Some hard hat makers say which labels and adhesives may go on their shells, and where. Check the instructions for your hard hats before you order, and keep stickers away from cracks, vents and the areas the maker tells you to leave clear. A label is for identification only; it does not change how the hard hat performs.

Send the wording, a logo file if you have one, the size and the quantity for each design on the quote form, or draft a label in the label builder. Names can be printed from a list, so every sticker in the order can carry a different name or number. We send a proof, and nothing prints until you approve it.
