Custom inspection tags and scaffold tags

Tags that record who inspected what and when, printed with your fields, colors and numbering.

Inspection tags

An inspection tag stays on a piece of equipment and records each check. Typical fields are the inspection date, the inspector's name or initials, the next due date and a pass or fail result. Many tags add a punch grid of months and years, so the inspector punches the date instead of writing it.

Common uses include ladders, fire extinguishers, slings and rigging, forklifts and other powered trucks, eyewash stations, electrical cords and tools, and calibrated instruments. Tell us what the tag is for and the fields your program records.

Scaffold tags

Many sites use a three-color scaffold tag system: green for a scaffold that has been inspected and is ready to use, yellow for one that can be used with stated precautions, and red for one that must not be used. A holder at the access point carries the current tag, and an inspection record on the back shows who checked the scaffold and when.

OSHA's construction rules for scaffolds (29 CFR 1926.451) require inspections by a competent person but do not set a tag format, so your site's program decides the colors, wording and fields. Send us that program's wording and we print it.

Stock, holes and numbering

Inspection and scaffold tags need to survive weather, handling and repeated writing. Rigid plastic and heavy polyester tags with a reinforced grommet or punched hole are common, and matte surfaces take marker and pen. Tags can carry sequential serial numbers, a barcode or a QR code that opens an equipment record.

How to order

Send a photo or drawing of the tag you use now, or list the header, colors, fields and back-side record, with the size and quantity, on the quote form. We send a proof, and nothing prints until you approve it. We manufacture in Pakistan and ship to the US, Canada and worldwide.

Common questions

Can you print our own inspection fields?

Yes. Send the fields and wording your program uses, front and back, and we lay them out for you to approve.

What do green, yellow and red scaffold tags mean?

On many sites green means inspected and ready to use, yellow means use with the precautions written on the tag, and red means do not use. Your site's scaffold program sets the exact meaning.

Do inspection tags come with punch-out dates?

They can. Month and year punch grids are a common layout; tell us the years the tag should cover.

Can each tag have its own number or QR code?

Yes. Tags can carry sequential serial numbers, barcodes or QR codes from a list you send.

Do you sell scaffold tag holders?

Ask in your quote request. Tell us the holder you use now so the tags fit it.

Is there a minimum order?

The minimum depends on the size, stock and printing. Your quote shows the quantities that apply.
